12/1/16 Link to my YouTube halo removal in comments... home from the #hospital after the removal of my halo. Those #bandaids cover the little holes in my forehead from the screws. We ended up at the hospital all day because I needed new #xrays by the wonderful #xraytech, and I needed my #brace refitted. Something people might not realize is your center of balance gets screwed up after 8 months in the halo. Not knowing where your center of balance is doesn't go well with #ehlersdanlossyndrome I would need a lot of #physicaltherapy. People with #EDS already have trouble with #proprioception. After my halo was removed my #hip kept #subluxating with every step I took walking upright. As soon as I would bend forward my #hipjoint would stay in the socket. Needless to say, one long day. If you have questions feel free to ask. This picture was right after I finished crying getting up the stairs because my hip wouldnt stay in, my #shoulderblade, #neck & #spine were killing me. I tried the elliptical again this morning. It made me sweat a lot more than the stairmaster, that's for sure. Jury is still out about how it feels on my hip. So far, so good. . I wasn't expecting to feel such a drastic difference between when I was teaching Zumba (even heavily modified) and now. My hip hurts a lot less than I thought it would. That makes me a little sad, as I really miss Zumba, but I am very happy to know that I don't have to live with that level of pain any more. . P.S. the elliptical said I burned 560 calories, but fitbit only allowed me 240?
