Keepin' it real. I really don't want to post the left photo. I look terrible. I felt squashed when I got to the gym this morning. I'm tired. My hip and leg have been hurting a lot and it is very frustrating. . I woke up this morning and came straight to the gym because I knew if I didn't, I would let something distract me. But I made it! ❌ Hip Mobility: cuadruped CARS ❌ Last month we went through Shoulder Mobility, so this month is all about Hip, an important joint and one of the joints we tend to move less nowadays. - 👉 Today I bring the Cuadruped CARS which is basically doing circular movements with each leg, but it is not as easy. - ☝ You better do an slow movement targeting the muscles around the hip and feeling them, doing wide circles. The more you are aware of the muscles, the more you can force and improve movement. - ✌ Keep your Core tight and your shoulders too, to maintain the position. - 👌 You can hold 1-2 seconds in each position for better feeling at the beggining, in each direction. - 😊 The important thing is to keep moving your joint continously, so the more you practice, the better. - Tag someone with a tight hip!

So please do not sleep lol, the level of balance and building mobility in the hip joint Is crucial. Don't be silly and think you can lift all the weight in the world without understanding that everything in your body works in unison, therefore strengthening every aspect occasionally especially when you train that hard has its benefits.

Sorry for myself😭 I truly wonder there’s something wrong with my hip joints / pelvis. 🤔 Rotate the femurs outwardly, try making the pelvis upright but no stress on lumbar, open the ischiums, curl all the toes inward, bend the knees and open them, contract the adductors, release iliopsoas... all these functional preparation before just blindly “stretching”. Otherwise, splits won’t happen but injure would. Here she's showing us some #flexibilty/ #mobility work for the #hip starting with a modified #pilates #exercise which allows for the hip flexors to lengthen more than in the traditional variation (without the roll under the #glutes). This could in theory be recreated with a pool noodle or bolster. She then goes into some #yoga and #mobility poses targetting the glutes, bringing the #hipjoint into it's full active range of motion and stretching the #ADductors ( #groin).
💫Because it is something that I have experienced first hand, and because I think we could all use a little more awareness in this area, my current teaching focus is the hip joint. A focus on opening is not enough. Creating less compression in this joint has been key to stabilize this area of my body and has had a huge knock on effect. "dumping" into my joints takes the colour out of the experience of my practice. The constant pull of dropping down without the lift up makes it all grey. To decompress is when it starts to come from the centre of the body and I can #movelikeajellyfish . If we can take the compression away from the joints then there will likely be a knock on effect in other areas... More space between the breath, more space between thoughts, more space between unhelpful actions. It's a work in progress. Picking away at the physical compression until we get to the stuff underneath (gulp).
