This weekend we were the only high school presenters at the Colorado and Wyoming Writing Tutors Conference! Our session aimed to inspire staff, tutors and administrators from college campuses across the two states to integrate their centers into the communities they serve. We challenged them to consider how writing centers can go beyond academic support and become spaces where students from underrepresented backgrounds are empowered and reclaim their voices as writers who fight for change. ⚡️✍🏾 #challengingthestatusquo#highschool#writingcenter#studentled#writingispower#cwwtc#conference#legacy

The Fontbonne Hall Academy’s Fine and Practical Arts department is honored to announce an enhancement to the Visual Arts program with the addition of the 5th Avenue Bay Ridge SAW partnership. This partnership has afforded FHA students the opportunity of showcasing their artistic talents within the Bay Ridge community working along side emerging and mid-career Brooklyn artists in the creation of site-specific installations (in storefront settings). This years jury panel has selected Lauren Silverman’s work for inclusion in the 2017 Bay Ridge SAW. Fontbonne would like to recognize and celebrate Lauren Silverman’s (class of 2017) achievement and invite you to join her and the Fontbonne community on May 13th for the launch of SAW’s Storefront Walk!
