I've recently discovered something about meal times with my children. First off, the only time my husband is home for meal times is on the weekend, so it's me and the kids 99% of the time during a meal. I have this long standing habit of standing in the kitchen when I eat breakfast and lunch, and if we're having a casual dinner. Part of it has to do with how our house is set up, but I've had this habit every place we've lived so that's a poor excuse. ⠀ • We also have a rule about our kids sitting down while they're eating. Little kids have a strong tendency to get down and up over and over while eating and it drives me totally crazy. So we tell them getting down from their chairs is a sign they are done eating, and they will have to be finished. My kids love to eat, so that's a big deal for them!⠀ • What I've noticed though, is I have to fight them far less on this rule if I am actually sitting down with them. If I'm standing in the kitchen prepping and eating, they get down and come ask or tell me things, ask for something, you name it. Or they just start playing around instead of eating. But if I make myself a plate and sit down with them at the table, they rarely get down from the table. It's a hard rule to make myself follow because I like to multitask! I get asked all the time for my recommendations for Vegan protein powders as not all of the ones I use are vegan. I am not a full vegan, but I did cut out dairy a few months back. Plant based protein is always my jam… from protein mixes to veggies. I'm forever baffled when people say they don't have time to eat "healthy". Takes less time than an oven ready meal to prepare something like that.. the word diet is another pet hate of mine only because diet usually k dictates a short term fix when in fact what's needed is a lifestyle change i.e. the way you live. Everyone loves a treat anyone who says they don't isn't telling the truth 😂 sugar is as good as hard wired into our DNA and kids are being born with insulin resistance yet people keep piling refund and processed foods into their GI system like that's of any use for longevity through life. The food systems a mess and the education system fails to properly educate us on what we should really eat so what chance do future generations stand..

Birthday dinnaa😎 Kale salad, roasted zucchini and halibut marinara on a bed of braised spinach!
Meal prep 🍗🍄: Chicken meat balls with light mushroom spinach sauce! 1 pound of ground chicken, 1 medium size yellow onion, 1/2 a celery stalk, 1/2 oats, 2 tbsp of bread crumbs, 1 egg, parsley, Himalayan salt, ground pepper and fresh garlic. Let chill in the fridge till mixture is not so wet and moisture is absorbed a bit by the oats and bread crumbs. Then roll the mixture to small little meat balls and pop them in a pan with a bit of olive oil and garlic and let them cook to give them some colour and texture. When you’re satisfied with them, transfer them to an oven safe dish and place them in the oven at 250 for 20 minutes/while you make your sauce. Added about 8 mushrooms to the pan (don't waste the meatball flavor and save yourself some dishes...Use the same pan!) with some fresh spinach and let them dry up a bit in the pan. Once the mushrooms are darker, add 1 cup of chicken broth, a splash of milk and a tbsp of plain greek yogurt. This will add the creamy element to the sauce! Coat the meatballs with the sauce and return to the oven for another 10-20 minutes to let the moisture incorporate into the meatball! Zapečená ovesná 💙 . 60g vloček (lepší jsou jemné) půlka rozmačkaného banánu 1vejce 80ml mléka dle vašeho výběru skořice špetka prášku do pečiva ➡vše  smíchat, nechat chvilku odstát a péct přibližně 20 minut na 180 stupňů. Po upečení jsem kaši dozdobila ovocem a arašídovým máslem 😊
The last month has been me studying my butt off. I’m exhausted, I’ve barely worked out in weeks, my lunch today was an apple and a bar of dark chocolate....and I am praying for peace in all of it. Almond buns🥖: 1 1/2 cup of ground almonds, 1 1/2 tsp of baking powder, 1/2 cup of marble light cheese, 2 tbsp of butter, 1 egg, a splash of milk and salt and pepper to taste! On a pan covered with parchment paper, in the oven at 350 for 20 minutes or so. Pop those babies out and add some parm cheese, and voila!
