It's just as important to listen as it is to talk. And listening is not easy. It takes practice. When someone is talking to us about something they're going through, our initial reaction is to try and help. To offer advice. To think of what to say in our own minds whilst that person is still talking. This is not listening. This is you getting ready to talk. Next time someone is talking to you, try and not think, or reply while they're talking. Wait for them to finish and then react with how you truly feel. You'll have a more successful conversation and this tactic is crucial in meetings, negotiations, arguments and looking after a mate.
