For the past several weeks, I have challenged my Soldiers to create a new logo for the #Gunslinger
Company to rebrand the organization and give it a piece of our own flair. The rules were simple: any Soldier could submit a design; all designs would be collected and ultimately voted upon by the First Sergeant and I. In reward, the #Soldier
who submitted the winning design would receive a 3-day pass that can be used at any time in the next 90 days.
The winning design is below and its symbolism is as follows: the two pistols represent the two Army Components for which we recruit, the Regular Army and the Army Reserve; between them are five bullets representative of the Company's five Recruiting Stations charged with accomplishing our missions for these two components; the United States Army Recruiting Command patch in the center is wrapped in a bandana, representative of our higher headquarters' missions and objectives and each subordinate echelon's unified commitment to accomplishing these; ultimately, this resembles a western gunslinger linking our Company to the storied and proud history of the Greater Kansas City area and its pivotal role in the Old West.
Congratulations to Staff Sergeant Daniel Shroads who submitted not only the design that was used as inspiration for this new logo but also the symbolism for each of the items contained within the logo!
As we integrate new leadership throughout the Company, First Sergeant Carter and I look forward to the great things to come, and it all starts with a new brand. Till the Last Round! #armylife #teamwork #symbolism #imagery #usarec #kansascity #kc #armyrecruiting
