I focus a lot on not being happy with my weight, or how various parts of my body look, or not seeing progress. But I know that it is also important to recognize and appreciate what my body is capable of. I have ran multiple races, (even more than the medals I have here!) I have trained for months to run long distances, I have biked for hours, I’ve completed challenging workouts that I didn’t think I could finish, I have done some grueling hikes including my first 14er! My body has accomplished so much, so I’m trying to learn to be thankful for all that it can do instead of focusing on what it is not.
Week FIVE. Mid-season... trying to work out some kinks in this season with having a larger team- it doesn’t go without its challenges... but seeing the girls run across a field unprompted hand in hand and skipping makes me feel like maybe we’re getting there... Also we are all excited to see what color this season’s team shirts will be! (I’m hoping for ORANGE so we can sport our school colors!) #GOTRLA#gotr#GirlsontheRun#girlsontherunissomuchfun#girlswhorun#whoruntheworldgirls
Nothing intense today, just 3 recovery Miles. After two long runs this weekend, I was planning on using today as a rest day, but sometimes, when things get crazy, you just have to #RunItOff 🙃 Already feeling better 😌 Happy Monday!!
"You can't expect to succeed if you only put in work on days you feel like it." 7.03 nighttime miles run and done ✅ I delayed this run so many times today! I literally dragged my feet 😭 If it wasn't for a new pair of running shoes (see my stories) I probably would've stayed home. So glad I didn't because once I made it to the park, it was all easy breezy 👍🏾 I also finalized which running shoes I'll be wearing for the #NYCMarathon . It's the @nbrunning 1260 v7's.
Who else is running the Nyc Marathon and what shoes are you wearing?? #NeverMissAMonday#marathontraining#motherrunner#runningmom
#mcm man crush Monday? More like Marine Corps Monday! Yesterday I ran the Marine Corps Marathon. It was hilly, it was hot, and I guess I hadn't fully recovered from Chicago just yet. The sites of Virginia and DC and all of the emotional moments of this race (looking at you, Blue Mile) made this race one of the best and hardest fought races I have ever done. Shout out to @xopenxtrailrunner for being the absolute best host I could have ever asked for. I could have not done this race without you cheering me one and introducing Em to run with me. You're seriously one of the kindest people I've ever met and I'm so lucky to have you as a friend. .
