I forgive myself.
I forgive you.
I love you.
This is my own version of the Hawaiian Ho'oponopono prayer. I'm sure my version is not perfect. I'm sure there are things wrong with it. I'm sure it could be better. But this is the version that comes out of my heart and soul. And these days, it is what comes from my heart and soul when I think about the people of Florida, and India, and Mexico, and Puerto Rico, and Texas, and the Virgin Islands, and elsewhere in the Caribbean and the world, who are suffering because our Earth is out of balance. We all contribute to the condition of our Earth, and so we can all do a better job of caring for our Great Mother.
I am in the wrong as much as anyone else. I am really good about turning off lights when I leave a room, but I almost never completely power down my laptop or enormous desktops (I work on multiple screens at the same time) because I never want to fully interrupt the tasks (or tabs) I have open.
Since becoming a Mommy, I also use waaaay too many paper towels. I guess it feels more sanitary than using washable hand towels. But a) that is silly, and b) germs are good for my babies. I can do better in at least these two areas, and I can do better TODAY. I can also seek out greener, more Earth-conscious charities, in addition to the Mommy- and children-focused charities that I naturally favor.
I know you guys have awesome, soulful ideas on these topics, so please share them here.
1) What steps are you taking to take better care of our Earth? and 2) To which charities are you donating--either in terms of helping to rebuild the affected states and countries and/or in terms of helping to take better care of our Mama Earth?
