Breakdown below: . 🍫 The milk chocolate bar has a whooping 44g carbs, 41g sugar only 2g fiber and 370 calories! The dark chocolate bar shown on the other hand had 13g carbs, 6g sugar, 5g fiber & 250 calories. With dark chocolate, you’ll feel fuller faster with the add fiber & won’t go through such a big insulin spike & crash. . 🌽 Vegetable oil and canola oils are highly processed, heated, bleached, refined and deodorized. The hight heat these oils go through have negative impact on the healthy compounds in the oils & are stripped of much of their omega-3 fatty acids in the processing. Extra Virgin Olive oil is produced by cold pressing and doesn’t use chemicals for refinement & also avoids high heat treatment, leaving it full of heart healthy fats. . 🥑 Sour cream adds about 40 calories & 6g of fat per quarter cup but doesn’t add much nutritionally. LIFE UPDATE: Holidays, food and my weight Going into my holiday in Thailand, I was determined to not be so worried about what I ate and just enjoy myself. I didn’t want to track my food or worry about going to the gym or whether food was ‘healthy’ or not. Did I succeed? Well, partly. For the first few days, I didn’t track and ate what I wanted, when I wanted and stopped when I was full. However, what I realised is that I was undereating by listening to my body. I decided to track everything for 1 day and I was surprised to see that I was only eating 1000cal! I didn’t want to lose any more weight because I was comfortable at my current weight and I didn’t want to lose strength/muscle whilst on holidays. So, I did track everything I ate on the trip. Only difference is that I was tracking to make sure I was eating enough (in general) and was talking in enough protein, rather than tracking to get specific macros. Did tracking help me maintain my weight whilst letting me enjoy myself? Yes and no. Yes! I did enjoy myself and tried all the dishes we ordered and all the unique Thai desserts that I normally wouldn’t eat. But No, I ended up losing 3kg in the 2 weeks I was away. Some of it would have been water weight, some of it would have been fat, some of it would have been muscle. Although I tracked and maintained my normal caloric intake, I still lost weight due to the amount of walking we did in Thailand. Where to now? With Christmas coming up, I want to try and maintain where I am at, weight and strength wise. However, I am not going to stress about the types of food I am eating or whether I am hitting my macros to the tee. Instead, I want to enjoy myself, the food and do workouts I love. While some people may be against tracking during the holidays season, I will be tracking to ensure I get enough food (not to hit certain numbers). Otherwise I know I will lose weight and strength, which is not what I want to happen. What’s important is that you do what works for you - whether it is to track, not track or eat intuitively - because you know your body the best 💕

Happy wednesday Starting my morning off with a chocolate protein pancake soo yummy. I never would of dreamed of eating anything like this before my ed recovery i would of panicked about all the calories. But now i think about all the nutrition it gives me and to refuel after a workout. I used to think working out was to loose weight but now i see it as something i enjoy and love my body gaining strength. It has took some time to realise this but you can get there eventually. Pancake recipe⬇️ In a bowl mash one banana Whisk in 2 egg whites A tsp @naturesheartsuperfoods cacao 2 tbsp @thatprotein blissful cacao You make need to add a little milk to loosen mixture. Heat a pan with a little @lucybeecoconut coconut oil and pour all the mixture in to make a super big pancake. Ce matin, je vous invite à aller chercker le dernier post de @chloelanchois. Elle nous parle de sa transformation, non pas physique mais davantage au niveau mental. Son texte m’a beaucoup parlé, car comme je vous l’ai déjà dit, le sport ne m’a pas fait évoluer que physiquement, mais aussi et surtout mentalement. Typiquement : avant quand ça commençait à devenir difficile, j’arrêtais. Maintenant, je termine ce que j’ai commencé. Avant, je n’osais pas aller dans un endroit où il n’y a que des garçons (typiquement la partie muscu en salle). Maintenant, les 3/4 du temps je suis une des seules nanas. Avant, je ne voyais que les kilos que je trouvais en trop. Maintenant, même si je sais que je peux être plus sèche, je vois aussi le travail et la masse musculaire. Avant, on me disait quelque chose de méchant et je me mettais à pleurer. Maintenant, je me dis que la personne doit sacrément être mal dans sa peau ! Ce ne sont que quelques exemples, mais je vous souhaite vraiment de trouver l’activité qui révélera vraiment votre personnalité.
