I recently seen some posts on social media about how girls lose their hair, their periods, their mind...... 😐 And you know, that could be the case for some. . It wasn't for me. I have a fond experience of prep. Not saying it was 100% plain sailing but it certainly wasn't torture. . I think it's important for people to realise that yes prep is extremely difficult for some.. But that's not the case for everyone. . Don't prep if you want to get 'skinny', don't prep if you've a bad relationship with food, don't prep if you are suffering from stress or anxiety... Looking to others to motivate you aesthetically is a limiting concept *insert photo of influencer with their arse out above a motivational quote here* To me, seeing a provocative photo above text that says 'Be the light ✨' Is not motivating. You will never be that person. You will never look like that person. Sounds harsh?... It's truth, because that person is them and you are you. I only say this because I want you to not need external motivation for your goals. You will be forever chasing and you'll wonder why you're never feeling fulfilled. Find your own why, a why that is independent to you that will keep you going forward to whatever the fuck you want. πŸ’― - - Now having said that, a role model is someone you appreciate, you respect and attributes you admire. I have many role models. And this lady's empire that she has built is one of them. I don't look to her for motivation, my motivation is intrinsic. I don't want her abs, I want mine, I don't want her shoulders, I want mine, I don't want her life, I want mine, BUT I study the paths of successful people that have gone before me as identity cues to create the life I want to lead. Success leaves clues and to find role models around you that have done exactly what you want to do is a key to help unlock your greatness. πŸ”‘ - - Continue in your pursuit of your goals, but don't limit yourself to scrolling Instagram for your 'motivation.' WHAT IS YOUR JOY? | My joy that I keep close to me is my relationships (family/friends) + my passions. I'm a photographer who loves fitness. In career, fitness hobby, lifestyle, it's easy for people to make comparisons, which only ever results in harm to self. Comparison can often lead to frustration, disappointments, jealousy and can result in being the thief of relationships, friendships, motivations and productivity. The only goal should ever be to better you and your life. No two people are the same. There is no competition and there is no other game but the one you are playing for your own wellbeing. I'm lucky enough to have very real and diverse connections in my life from various backgrounds. Whether they're from career focused groups, people who love fitness, or close personal friendships. Eg: I'm part of an all female photography group who believe that women should lift each other up rather than tear each other down. Who do not believe in competing or comparison. Who creatively critique each other's work to help push them to do and be better. Similarly, I've met some awesome men and women into their fitness. We constructively critique to help and support each other. We don't always train together but it's good to know you can comfortably ask for help and not feel offended when someone shows you a different way of doing things. I relate this to every part of my life and I'm much happier for having this frame of mind. Thankful for the support, the critiques that have helped me on my journeys through all that I do! That feeling you get when you've been down and out for the past five days and return to f'$& @ shit up ☺️! Although I'm not one to take my health for granted as I live a pretty balanced & healthy lifestyle, being sick and stuck in the houseπŸ˜… for the past few days was a reminder of how fortunate I'am to be able to live an active healthy lifestyle on the daily. It truly is a blessing to be able to wake up with zero limitations and seize every second of every day. Never take that for granted, for some people will never be fortunate enough to know that feeling. Also when your not feeling πŸ’―, rest! Seems so easy right? But as we know when your someone who is accustomed to πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸ‘―πŸ‹πŸ½β€β™€οΈgo go go and is never really ever sick, this is proven harder than one may thinkπŸ™„. However again, the best thing in which you can do for yourself is rest! Your body knows what to do, you'll be back stronger and ready to work that much more efficiently when the time comes.
