The Ball Slam Burpee | #WorkitOutWednesday⠀ ⠀ One of our favorite combination moves and metabolic exercises!⚡️⚡️⚡️ ⠀ This exercise will strengthen your muscles while raising your heart rate for a cardio benefit too!⠀ Here are some execution tips:⠀ ⠀ · Use a large, **non-bouncing** soft medicine ball. (The Dynamax medicine balls are perfect and that’s what Coach Amanda is using!)⠀ · Stand with your feet shoulder width apart, knees slightly bent, core engaged and ball held overhead.⠀ · Throw the ball down to the ground in front of your feet with as much force as possible. Exhale during the movement and contract the abs.⠀ · If possible, catch the ball as it bounces from the floor. If there's no bounce at all, keep the ab muscles engaged and pick the ball from the floor.⠀ · Add a burpee.⠀ · Keeping your feet wide for the burpee portion of the exercise helps to avoid rounding in your lower back.⠀ · Keep shoulders drawn down (away from your ears) and back to keep your upper back in alignment as well and to avoid unnecessary tension in your neck during the exercise.⠀ · Lift the medicine ball back to the starting position and repeat.⠀ ⠀ Try 3 sets of 10 reps.
