I was tagged by the amazing @nima_lab
to tell my story of how I started Sweetly Versatile. There are many factors to why and how I started my business. I started crocheting when I was 12 years old and eventually my mother gave me the idea to start selling the things I made. I heard of Etsy through a teacher in high school and when I was a freshman in college I decided to give it a try.
Finding the name for my business was kind of tricky. I wanted a name that reflected my personality and what I do. So Sweetly represented me being feminine and Versatile is because...I'm versatile 😊. I started my business because I wanted to start wealth building because as a young person sometimes you have to create your own opportunities. It was also a way for me to turn what I love into a business. I also wanted to contribute to black businesses and entrepreneurship, which is why I joined @webuyblack.
Two years later I am loving what I do. I have been introduced to a lot of different people and made connections and collabs with other young entrepreneurs 😄. I wonder what's the story behind @snowflakecrochet @rose_knits @tangled_in_yarn
