In the last season I did a lot
of crazy mountain bike tours.
A lot of them have been with friends
who suggested a tour
and I thought how bad can it be.
I did a few mountain bike rides
of this category like
75km and 2000 meters in elevation change.
This one on the photo was also about 75km
and 1500 meter in elevation change
but the longest parts where on the cycling path
so nothing that realy would impact your stamina.
I can't remember if I have been on
a ride the day before
or what was wrong with me
on this day.
Those 1500 meter in altitude difference
put me over the edge.
I had to take a break now and then
to maintain atleast some of my energy.
The only problem was that at the end of the uphill
we still had to hike our bikes
up 400 meters.
Not in distance.
But in altitude difference to get to the crest.
Where we would finaly descend all the way to the Holy Hansen and
get back into the valley.
So everything depended on mental strength
as the muscles already wanted to quit.
It wasn't cold.
It wasn't windy.
It wasn't raining.
But the muscles soreness
didn't made it easier.
I don't know about you
but I have those moments a lot of times
while riding my bike.
The thoughts which seam totaly absurd
once you reach the end of your uphill ready to descend.
But still make me struggle on the uphill.
