The free walk has always been our nemesis in our dressage tests. We used to have a huge problem with jigging this movement. While we would score mostly 8s and 7s on the rest of our test, our score would be brought down quite a bit with scoring 3s, 4s, and 5s in the (double coefficient) free walk. In the last year, though, we have improved this movement A LOT!

As you can see in this photo, he still needs to stretch down and out a lot more, but we have learned to relax enough to eliminate the jig as a first step. This improvement has made a huge difference in his rideability in the ring and our competitiveness after the dressage phase! 🌟 Always a work in progress, but even the smallest improvements with horses make a big difference!
