In my last post I mentioned @mcarson1999
, which stands for Michael Carson, a painter I admire a lot.
His figures are out of another world, they remind me of images of visual novels or comics, but not drawn: painted.
I like his rawness of touch, leaving it to the eye of the beholder to complete the image.
As his technique is SO opposite to mine (which is basically flat line based), it is a great challenge to investigate it copying some of the portraits.
One doesn’t learn by watching, one has to has physically done it to master the technique.
That’s why I copy.
And as I am SO exited with the result that I never thought I would be able to make, I show it to y’all ❤️
