Today's Top 9: Favorite Movie Endings
*not necessarily the best, but my personal favorites
*not necessarily the very final scene of the movie
*no more than one movie per director (if I wanted to I could probably fill up the list with mostly Tarantino movies)
*oh, yeah, and... spoilers. Kinda. Not completely. (A shit ton of) Honorable mentions, in no particular order: * #DjangoUnchained:
The final sequence where Django gets his revenge is simultaneously badass and hilariously over-the-top.
A beautifully bittersweet montage of a life that could have been.
A riveting final act followed by one of the most emotionally powerful deaths I've ever seen in a film. Feels Level = >1000000%
A chilling (literally) final sequence that's as iconic as it is creepy.
There's nothing like two dudes sitting in a massive burning complex awaiting certain death. That's true bonding right there.
"I am Iron Man." I mean.... 'nuff said.
A clever and tragic twist ending; one of the better of recent years.
"It's the one that says 'Badass Motherfucker'." Samuel L. Jackson is just a god.
A very impactful twist that cleverly subverts expectations.
NOW ONTO THE OFFICIAL LIST... 9. #Life
(2016) (Alien vs. Earth): The ending of Life is absolutely hilarious in my opinion. Whether this was the filmmakers' intention, I don't know. But I laughed my ass off and I fucking loved it. The implications of total invasion, the overly obnoxious music, it's just hysterical. Life isn't one of the best sci-fi's ever made, but my God is the ending great. If they had added a "The End???" title into it, it probably would've been even higher.
(Girl Power): Yes, my least favorite Tarantino movie has, in my opinion, his best ending. It's a pretty great car chase sequence that goes along very smoothly, and then it suddenly turns into a women's empowerment message where some women beat the living shit out of Kurt Russell and, in 80's cheese fashion, jump into the air and cheer as the camera freezes on the image. Fucking hilarious.
