Eagle Criterium - 4th Place
In the last race of the season, even physically tired, I got a place on the podium in a race that was supposed to be incredible.
In qualify (A) @maasarthur
qualified second without great efforts, whereas in the
qualify (B) I qualified myself second and @luiztestoni
first. Everything was heading for a great race, but not so great about the organization of the event. The qualifys were supposed to start at 3:00 pm, the event did not have a schedule, all people from the event with no exception were giving mismatched information, some even with a certain lack of education with the athletes and unwillingness to obtain some information.
We waited without knowing what time the final races would be, the 30min race turned into 15min because the night was coming in and there were no spotlights or any lights for the safety of the athletes.
We received the news that the Men's Final would also be 15 minutes long. It was already night and some people ventured to run, others didn't. Illuminated by car headlights in the parking lot, the race was already defined in the first lap when me and 3 more athletes opened a gap and maintained until the end of the race. Luiz from @cog.cc
suffered an accident and had to leave, other two accidents happened during the race, only 5 people finished. I ended up in 4ht place, with a lot of difficulty to see something in front of me, I just followed the line of any athlete that was in front of me and I congratulate them because even with all the problems of the event in itself, they raced incredibly well.
I appreciate the initiative to create something for our enjoyment and I give full support for it but sometimes you do not need a big sponsor for the event or structure, and I can mention the first @daemoncycling
DaemonTrack which was done in an open place, without any resources but with a great schedule and without any accidents and negligence with athletes.
None of those facts would change the result of the race.
Thanks to the amazing friends of the @cog.cc
, my girlfriend @adrimasson
and to the friends I see and create in these races.
