- ⬆️Midback Mobility to ⬆️ Your Squats⬆️ - Hey...I get it. When the sky 🌤 is out...the thighs is out and curls are for the girls 💪. I’ve seen people strap their hands to the barbell to squat and use other methods because they aren’t able to get their arms back to reach the bar 😂. Well friends this vids for you 🍻. - We typically get the most extension from our backs from out mid back, however if we tend to over program all these exercises like curls and bench and couple this with a largely sedentary 💤 job (aka lots of sitting), we tend to develop limitations into extension. This exercise can help be a buffer for this ⚗️. Mix this in with some of the other thoracic mobility exercises I’ve done in the past! AOM EPISODE 22: . AIN'T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH, AIN'T NO VALLEY LOW . [HOW TO DO A PLANK] . Let’s just come out and say it: planks destroy your abs.💀 For a pretty basic isometric exercise, planks strengthen your entire body including your abs, shoulders, back, chest, and glutes. The best part is that you don't even have to move. 😉 But, do you find yourself lowering or raising your hips after a few seconds of holding it together? Oh, I feel you. 😩 . ❌HIPS TOO LOW: When your abdominal and arm muscles start to fatigue, your hips will likely begin to sink. Gravity, ladies and gentlemen! 🤓 This hyperextended position will strain your lower back, and your core muscles will be less engaged. . . ❌HIPS TOO HIGH: Folks, this is a plank...not a downward dog. 😒 Sticking your butt up in the air (like you just don't care) takes the tension away from core engagement. 🤦🏻 SO, drop those hips! . . ✅NEUTRAL: To fully engage the core, keep your spine and head in a neutral position. Imagine bringing your belly button in towards your spine for better core engagement. Keep your gaze 👀 down (do NOT crank your head up 🙅🏼) and make sure NOT to shrug your shoulders! Focus on bringing them away from your ears by depressing 👇 the scapula. AND always remember to  squeeze them glutes! 🍑 . Try holding your plank for 10 to 15 seconds, and gradually build your way up to 60 seconds. Tag a friend looking to build those abs of steel! 😬💪🏻 #ArtofMobility #AOM #MoveWithAPurpose
