I'm about to dig into my first keto cookbook! I used to love buying cookbooks but now I only buy one or two a year. They're always disappointing for me. Truthfully I bought this one just to lend to my dad. He asked about my diet and knows I've been keto off and on for a few years now. In the past I've tried converting him to whole foods and I think I came off too pushy. Manmeat flipped through this already and said the recipes were meh and there Definitely weren't many he wanted to try. BUT the meal plans, shopping lists and information was on point for what I wanted. I wanted a "keto for dummies" book to lend out. Knowing my dad's idea of cholesterol though...I'm really worried that the "high fat diet" thing will really put him off. The pancake recipe has pork rinds ... And I didn't realize it was Paleo keto either.... I didn't see it in the description and dairy free keto is definitely not my gig. I didn't see any other books that were specifically whole foods focused though. (So I have to try and explain that heavy cream, sour cream and cheese are fine. Personally I don't do good on keto without dairy so I'm not sure how helpful this book will be overall. There's no way my dad will want to consider coconut milk ...it's not gonna happen.) Overall it's a well written book if you want to be paleo-keto. ----- AIso I printed out the bulletproof diet roadmap for him . I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. It's free to download! Hopefully he doesn't feel bombarded.
