What an amazing day. Clocked in 10 miles at 01:27:41, over 2 minutes faster than I hoped for. Additionally, I managed to raise £300.00 for Naomi House Children's Hospice. This time last year, I weighed in at 17 stone 7lbs and hadn't trained in years.
Thanks to my Son running rings around me, I realised I needed to get fitter and lose some of the weight that had crept on. Now 41lbs lighter, I managed to cross the finish line of my first organised race in 7 years, quicker than I could have dreamed of. A big shout out to @carlywurlyyy
, for putting up with my endless talk about running and for letting me put in so many hours of training over the weekends. Also a big thanks to Paul and Ally and @elainestewart174
, for being there at the finish line with Carly.
With plenty of room for improvement, bring on the Southampton Marathon! Everyone will be pleased to know, I'm not running that for charity, as it's more of a personal goal to tick an item off my bucket list and probably my last chance to do it before I'm 30. However, it's never too late to donate towards my GSR fundraising page http://www.justgiving.com/beardandthebear?utm_id=26
