"when times are good, be happy; when times are bad, consider: God has made the one as well as the other." (Ecclesiastes 7:14)
we all experience storms at some point of our lives. some storms are more like a little drizzle; some are hurricanes. some shake up everything we worked so hard to build, and often times, we realize that those strong winds, thought they seemed scary, broke down the walls that kept us captive. -
that metaphor was a bit long,- hope I didn't lose you there. to sum it up: amazing things often come out of the struggles that we may endure. yet it seems, we are so focused on blaming God for the struggle, we forget to thank Him for he growth it gave us. when the storm's over and the sun's overhead,- we credit our achievements to ourselves.
"..God has made the one as well as the other." our Father sees the big picture, and He knows what will come out of every circumstance. when a storm is approaching, let's put our trust in Him, and when peace surrounds us let's praise the One who filled our hearts with joy.
(ps this morning's photo features a lovely little bookmark I put together to remind myself to take time to just be still and listen to what God has to say to me)
