So this has been training week for me. I’ve been trying to push my strength primarily and also working on cardio and flexibility .... started like this
Sunday: 10k and Some Yoga
Monday: 45 min cardio - cross trainer in the morning
Afternoon - 3 hrs: strength workout for quads, adductors,abductors, both with weights and resistance bands , assisted pull ups, etc etc
1.5. Hr cardio again
Tuesday: 1.5 hr bharatanatyam - rehearsal ; 1.5 hr pilates stretch and strength ; 1 hr cardio ; 1.5 hr ballet barre and jumps; 1 hr strength (quads pull ups etc)
Wednesday: 2 hr bharatanatyam basics- adavus ; 1.5 hr rehearsals; 1.5 hr Kalaripayattu class; 1.5 hr strength (core, planks, etc) 1.5 hr Contemporary
Thursday : had some family things so started early
4:30-6:30 am Yoga ; 1.25 hr cardio ; 1.5 hr bharatanatyam basics
Friday: 1.5 hr bharatanatyam basics ; 3 hr pilates stretch and strength; 1.5 hr kalaripayattu ; 1 hr cardio
Tomorrow is my last day on this schedule. Then I’ll get a massage , take one day off and start again.
Saturday : 4-6 Yoga ; 2 hr rehearsals ; 1.5 hr kalaripayattu; 1.5 hr strength
My girls have been resilient. Have done a good amount of it with me. Missed some, fallen apart in some. But have been working through it all! Next week we need to get back into rehearsals and see how the training week has built our strength.
The third day is usually the hardest, once you push through you feel much better. I know it’s going to get better each time. Rehearsals have to happen side by side. But dedicating some special time to just push your body is important to me. It’s been good! Feels good! Especially after struggling for two years with viral arthritis and recovery from an injury ..... :-) looking forward to more weeks like this.
