Here's a quick circuit you can do using an easy to pack exercise band, power strap and whatever dumbbells you can find. Let the amount of resistance (band or weights) determine your rep range. Nice and quick for an overall pump before the #pool or #beach! . . As Many Rounds As Possible in 30 mins (or whatever time you have) . - DB Rev Lunge to Kick . - DB Close Grip Bench Press . - DB Front Squat. - Banded Low Row. - Elevated Glute Bridge to Knee In. - Banded Bench Dip to Knee In. MOVEMENT VIDEO: OVH KB press with a progression to a bottoms up OVH press. Have a request to do a movement video on the overhead kettle bell press, the cue used for this movement is vertical forearms. When the wrist is stacked on top of the elbow it allows the arm segment to work as it should with the shoulder in a healthy manner. If you find it hard to stack the wrist over the elbow work through some external rotation drills. Additionally, you can bring the elbow infront of the bodies midline (midaxial line) in order to better stack those joints. After not working out since Thursday I decided to get after some oly work. Warmed up working through the mechanics of the different pulls of the snatch followed by the sotts press (all done at 95lbs). Then worked up to the BW snatch of 185! Got a bit forward but was happy with the catching position of the arms and shoulders. It's always fun to work towards a new goal for the first time and getting massive returns for the work you put in due to a young training age in this style of lifting (~6 months). If you are just starting with oly lifting take the time to ensure you have an adequate ROM before putting any real weight on the bar. Then get someone to help you out who knows a thing or two like @macklesnowball @boulder60 or @westinmackenzie , never be to proud to actively take the role as the student. Exercise: Agility Ladder Double To Single Leg Hops (with 25 lb. weighted vest) Description: Jump diagonally into each square of the agility ladder landing on two feet inside the square. Once both feet hit the square immediately jump out (continuing in a diagonal line) and land only on one foot outside of the next square. From here transition your diagonal pattern in the opposite direction on the next square and repeat the pattern until you reach the end of the ladder. Make sure that with each hop coming out of the square that the knee of the trail leg is pulled up to bring the thigh parallel to the ground for that single leg to land outside each upcoming square. For added intensity perform a double knee tuck jump once the end of the ladder is reached. For extra added intensity do all of this with a 25 lb. weighted vest as seen in the video. Purpose: This type of footwork is great for building agility, quickness, and reaction time. Likewise it's great for getting in a serious level of cardio work. Recommendation: If performed on a 15 foot agility ladder count a single rep with a trip down and back from one end of the ladder back to the start.
