Colour version of Corfu Castle after last nights intro to Astrophotography. Big thank to @thegrumpyphotographer for the guidance and @markpaine for the treat!
The potential for something great is there, until it decided to get all cloudy 😐 I doubt this will even clear up before sunrise. So much for meteor shower pictures 😕 #Night #NightPic #NightPhotography #Sky #Skypic #Stars #Astrophotography #LongExposure #NightShot #Colorado #Coloradotography
Another brilliant night of Aurora Australis. Beams were shooting up visible to the naked eye! Also lots of shooting stars and just truly wonderful conditions for star gazing. 23 April 2017 , Aoraki National Park. #auroraaustralis #astrophotography #aurora #southernlights #dctravelstonz #nzroadtrip
I have loved the stars too fondly to be afraid of the night 💫. #astro #milkyway #starstrewn #aoraki #astrophotography #nightscape #nzroadtrip

The Milky Way Galaxy, seen from the southern part of java island. Can you spot it?
ONE <3

Omega Centauri (Cen or NGC 5139) is a globular cluster in the constellation of Centaurus that was first identified as a non-stellar object by Edmond Halley in 1677. Located at a distance of 15,800 light-years (4,850 pc), it is the largest globular cluster in the Milky Way at a diameter of roughly 150 light-years. It is estimated to contain approximately 10 million stars and a total mass equivalent to 4 million solar masses. #globularcluster #milkyway #universetoday #universe #stars #astonomy #astrophotography
Corfu Castle last night. First foray into Astro photography. Big thanks @markpaine @thegrumpyphotographer
Watch the sunrise is something special. Every victory you win is like a sunrise. Leaving fear and all fears behind them opens a boundless horizon. #watchthesunrise #waldeckfrankenberg #renewableenergy
Last night I shot the Aurora Australis for the first time EVER! It was an incredible light show and I was pretty lucky to get this perfect shot. I never thought I would get an Aurora shot to add to my portfolio, let alone a shot WITH the Milky Way Core as well 😮 I think I'll be making more of an attempt in future to shoot more astro 👌 . . . . . #astrophotography #universetoday #milkyway #astrophoto #astrography #nightsky #nightscaper #starphotography #starscape #longexpo_additction #landscape_captures #awesomeearth #milkywaychasers #natgeospace #starrynight #longexposure #astro_photography_ #ic_longexpo #fs_longexpo #aurora #auroraaustralis #tamroncreates #nzmustdo #nzgeo #natgeotravel #natgeo #earthporn #nzgeo #discoverearth
Even though there was some pesky cloud hanging around, I was finally able to get out in a dark sky area and dabble in some more astrophotography. Thinking I may have to invest in some faster glass soon. . . . #astrophotography #nightsky #milkyway #canon #canon6d

Last nights astrophotography at Moore River.. not too shabby for a first timer! ✨
Tagged along with some local #milkywaychasers for my first #astrophotography shot with my #sony camera. The timing was brilliant when a car passed by and light painted the barn. Shot on a #A7Rii with a #Rokinon 14mm f2.8 ISO 6400 20" . . . #sonyalpha #nightscape #utah #reflection #nightsky

Starlight on the Swedish–ESO Sub-millimetre Telescope: Though now decommissioned, the Swedish–ESO Submillimetre Telescope (SEST) still remains at La Silla gazing sightless into the sky. At the time of its first light, it was the only large sub-millimetre telescope in the southern hemisphere. SEST was decommissioned in 2003. . . . Image Credit: L. Zychova/ESO.

On this day in 2013 👉 X-rays from Supernova Remnant SN 1006: What looks like a puffball is surely the remains of the brightest supernova in recorded human history. In 1006 AD, it was recorded as lighting up the nighttime skies above areas now known as China, Egypt, Iraq, Italy, Japan, and Switzerland. The expanding debris cloud from the stellar explosion, found in the southerly constellation the Wolf (Lupus), still puts on a cosmic light show across the electromagnetic spectrum. In fact, the above image results from three colors of X-rays taken by the orbiting Chandra X-ray Observatory. Now known as the SN 1006 supernova remnant, the debris cloud appears to be about 60 lights years across and is understood to represent the remains of a white dwarf star. Part of a binary star system, the compact white dwarf gradually captured material from its companion star. The buildup in mass finally triggered a thermonuclear explosion that destroyed the dwarf star. Because the distance to the supernova remnant is about 7,000 lights years, that explosion actually happened 7,000 years before the light reached Earth in 1006. Shockwaves in the remnant accelerate particles to extreme energies and are thought to be a source of the mysterious cosmic rays. . . .  Image Credit: NASA/CXC/P. I see the road begin to climb I see the stars, begin to show I see your colors and I'm dying of thirst . . . I was warming myself sitting next to the bonfire. We had gone to our village for last diwali and our village still being a very traditional one, the neighborhood was all family. So around this huge bonfire people were discussing tales of 'Chhidwa', the ghost which changes its shape of existence from creature to creature and teleports you to some very different terrains. Sounds crazy. I know but people were serious and some of their family members had even experienced this insane phenomenon. My father opposed this as he grew up listening all these tales and now, as a literate adult he knew nothing of that supernatural sort existed. Suddenly, we hear howlings from the jungle close to our inhabitation which was far from the main village area. It was normal for everyone else but me. I was pretty pissed off. It were the jackals and foxes. Out of nowhere, my uncle asked me if i wanted to see some of the wild there. Most of them didn't want me go because of that ghost. Just to prove that there wasn't any ghost or something, my father wanted me to go. I was excited instead. Packed my Camera bag quickly, checked batteries, tripod in hand, and we leave. I could still hear them arguing with Papa, but he just waved me a bye, a confident bye. We saw some jackals and wild ass. We were eventually quite far off from our home. So we started our journey back home. In between i had found this place very fascinating so i asked him to stop. We did. But he was in a hurry this time. He was a little afraid. He lit a tiny bonfire while i was trying out some exposure. He said the fire keeps the ghosts away. I was like" haan sure it does. Good for us". Turns out that stoppage was really fruitful. . . . #Nikon D5300 A - 3.5 S - 30 seconds ISO - 12800 . . . #milkywaychasers #milkyway #astrophotography #nightscaper #astrophoto #stars #nightsky #night #india #indianphotography #_soi #photographersofindia #uttarpradesh #incredibleindia #travel #skyporn #earthpix #indiantravelsquad #longexposure #standardlens #d5300 #benro #nikonindia #iamnikon #mypixeldiary #lpmi #nightphotography
