I heard her coming up the stairs so I stood against a wall on the side of them. Alex approached the top of the stairs with the knife I had hoped she wouldn’t have managed to find. I gave Alex a right hook as she reached the rail. Again, my blow only made her stumble a bit, but she regained her composure and ran into me, knocking me into the podium that was behind me. Alex and I struggled over the knife. I used the podium to hold my weight and my left foot to kick Alex off me. Alex hit the wall and lost her knife for good this time. It fell through a crack and landed underneath the floor we were fighting on. I stood up and Alex came at me again, this time ramming me back into the podium and hitting the buttons on it. We both fell and landed on the floor. Struggling to get Alex off me, I could see the gigantic fan begin to turn on. Alex continued to try to choke me. The fear gave me renewed strength as I grabbed her hands, and managed to push them aside.
The fan was gaining momentum and I knew that time was running out. With my right leg raised, I knocked Alex off me, pinning my calf on her throat. Alex was stunned by my blow this time as she laid on the ground rubbing her throat. I got up as fast as I could and ran down the stairs two at a time as the fan began to roar. I couldn’t see, but I could guess that Alex tried to stand when the fan had come on at full force. She was thrown like a rag doll, as I heard a loud noise and peeked around the corner of the wall, I saw her lying unconscious on the floor, her face bloodied. It looked like the impact had crushed her Barbie-like features, but there was so much blood I couldn't be sure. I thought she was dead because I received nothing when I read her, but she was unconscious, barely breathing, and hurt badly.
