I love Hydrangeas especially the Lacecap. So delicate and pretty.
Rescued from the rain πŸŒΈπŸ’¦
In need of some floral RX this Friday? This Stems by Meredith bridal bouquet for Amy had the most fun details, and I may or may not have obsessed over the pods. // πŸ’ @stemsbymeredith . . . . #petalsandprops #allthingsbotanical #botanicalpickmeup #slowfloralstyle #inspiredbypetals #underthefloralspell #stylingtheseasons #weddingbouquet #CCseasonal #floralfriday #bridalflowers #weddingdetails
I don't know what to make of the world anymore. War, terror, racism, inequality. I know it has been part of the world for much longer than I am alive, yet the older I get the less I understand if there is anything to understand at all. All I feel is the need to fight (and write) for something good, but to be honest, I don't know where to start. So I read books and I take any book recommendation on these subjects matters that I can. πŸ–€
This piece I painted yesterday is a beautiful reminder for me of the countryside in France. My husband and I have amazing memories of staying in a lovely chateau in the Loire Valley on our honeymoon 10 years ago. The fields that surrounded the chateau were sooo beautiful, fresh, and peaceful 🌿🌿. I do hope to get back there one day as a family! I have updated the shop with some new little originals, including this piece! You'll find them at fleurlyon.com (or via the link in my profile). Happy Friday! xx
Managed to knock this dahlia head off whilst picking in the cutting garden this morning. Every cloud...
White cosmos are so magical and whimsy. Love them.
So you were all loving the colour combo in my last post and I thought I would share where my inspiration came from. Get a load of these beauties! Big up for the bargain 99p Dahlia tubers I bought on a whim. I passed them looking lonely on the shop shelf and thought, 'what the heck, throw caution to the wind and treat yourself' To be honest I reckoned there was a chance they would be duds. But clearly not! Utterly glorious in every way and making my garden look all pretty. I have to say Dahlias are my favourite flower by far. What's yours? Happy Friday everyone!
πŸŒΈπŸ’—Things I should be doing - hanging the washing out, getting showered and dressed, generally just tidying. What I am doing - titting about with sweetpeas and blue skies in a dress from the washing pile (pyjamas went in the wash) avoiding any interaction with the neighbours. I have perfected the art of strategically hanging the washing out in sections on the line so as I always have a laundry barrier between me and said neighbour. If I don't make eye contact, I'm not really there πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Standard Friday behaviour right?!πŸŒΈπŸ’—
Something to remind me of childhood rockpooling holidays, while staying at home in Oxfordshire πŸšπŸ¦€β˜€οΈ #seashellbunting #seahorse #holidayvibe #summerbunting
