Planks are a great exercise to improve core control and strengthen the upper body. Once the plank is mastered you can give these WALKING PLANKS a try! . Walking Planks?! . You read that right, The Walking Plank incorporates all the great benefits of a stationary plank and adds movement. To perform, start in a plank position and begin to ‘walk’ by simultaneously lifting the opposite arm and leg to take ‘steps’ and make your way across the room. The challenge lies in maintaining neutral spine and keeping the shoulders and hips level and parallel with the floor even as you are ‘walking’. . But Why?! . ‘Walking’ with our plank creates a more dynamic movement. This addition does make it harder, BUT it also makes it easier to maintain awareness of good form.  Let me explain, continuously moving the arms and legs makes it very difficult to ‘lock out’ any of your joints. If we are stiff and ‘locked out’ you will have a hard time feeling much going on in your muscles because you are basically relying on your joints to do the work; don’t cheat yourself. Adding movement provides an opportunity to regularly readjust form to keep our muscles constantly firing ensuring we get the most bang for our buck! Have fun with these!
Ladder Drills are a great way to work on coordination and get the heart rate up! What I love is there is so much variety there is a drill that will challenge anyone!
