During a recent event at the 2017 New York Times DealBook Conference, Mark was asked what he currently invests in. This is what he said ... “What do I invest in? Cash, treasuries, municipalities ....stuff that I’ve had forever... plus a lot of private companies because I try to really support entrepreneurs.” As for his largest holdings, “Amazon is now my biggest stock holding and Netflix is second. Just because of their growth. I’ve had them for a long time. I don’t switch things around. I don’t move it around a lot.” - said Mark Cuban. That makes sense, given that the golden rule of investing is to think long-term and leave your investments alone. As Warren Buffet says, “If you aren’t willing to own a stock for ten years, don’t even think about owning it for ten minutes.”
Less than 1% of venture capital-backed startup founders are Latinx. Less than 1% of venture capitalists are Latinx. There's huge underrepresentation on both sides of the table. This is why we are so excited to have investors like Carolina Huaranca stepping up to help train our founders on how to raise capital for their startups 💰 x 🚀 Carolina has also been a tech startup founder herself, so she has empathy for what it means to be a first-time founder and early stage entrepreneur. A week in and here are my first impressions (with some pics too)! Link in bio.
