The most frustrating part of not seeing the scale go down? - Not knowing why. - In some cases you just need more patience -- most cases actually. - But in a lot of cases, whether it's a misread label or continuing to take in calories you aren't aware, you're gonna think things should be happening, but they aren't. - That's frustrating. I get it. - One way eating out can be challenging is you can bet even if the meal looks the same as something at home, it's probably a few tablespoons of butter and oil EACH more. - So an extra 600. - Now you know why it tastes so good. - So how do you get over this hump? - I mean eating out less if you do can help. But in some cases maybe you don't all the time. - In that case, order the dressing on the side. And tell the server to keep the butter and oil to a minimum. - Ask questions. Here and there it's no big deal, but if you aren't accounting for it those extra cals can be getting in the way. - Trust me, the meal will still taste good without the extra sauce. - Questions or comments? BUILD AN UPPER CHEST 📍You can rep out triple this weight? That’s great - I’m glad you found a style of training that works and satisfies you. Here’s my style - It’s what works and satisfies me. 📍SLOW Incline Presses - 5th set in, following some heavy flat bench! This was the tempo I needed to feel like my upper chest was worthy of wearing V-necks 24/7. There’s a lot of time to think between the top and bottom of the rep, so here is what I’m actively thinking of: 1️⃣ - Row the weight DOWN - Obviously this is a press, but imagining that I’m trying to row the weight back helps me stay tight, keep my shoulders back, and ultimately activate the upper portion of my chest more! 2️⃣ - Break Apart the Bar - It’s a barbell, but I’m imagining it as a pair of dumbbells. I do that to remember to stretch out wide and then squeeze together at the top! 3️⃣ - Wrists Straight - It’s too easy to let your hands fall back during any form of pressing. Keeping your wrists straight will keep your joints stacked, which will better transfer the energy when you go to press! 📍This post makes training seem like a science! It's that time of year again. December is my month where my body tells me it's had it and inevitably I'm more susceptible to colds and viruses. SO, my labor of love...hearty #bonebroth I swear by this stuff! I drink 2-3 cups a day and I get all kinds of awesome collagen but also tons of minerals and vitamins that help to bulk up my gut and in turn my #immunesystem . What do you do to give your immune system a kick into gear this time of year? I'd love to hear! (Super easy #recipe below) . . 1 organic free range chicken carcass 4-5 cups water 3 carrots 1 large onion 3 stalks celery 6 cloves garlic 3 bay leaves 2 tsp himalayan sea salt (I like more but I LIKE salt) 2 tsp pepper 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar . . Rough chop veggies, throw ingredients into crockpot or instapot. Set to high and cook. Crockpot I usually leave for 12-15 hours. Instapot takes 4-5. Allow to cool, strain out veggies and bones. This workout involves a lot of squatting, which is by far my favorite movement. For all squats that use both legs at a time I did 20 repetitions. When alternating legs, do 10-12 repetitions for each leg. You can hold a weight for all exercises or repeat 2-3 times for a full workout.

More proof that the scale doesn't always matter when trying to reach a fitness goal. I get it, it matters to some people because that the only way they can justify their progress. ITS VERY POSSIBLE to stay the same weight but, change how you look COMPLETELY. I know this from my own experience👍🏼. When I go to get super lean for a contest my weight doesn't really change the ENTIRE time but- my body looks completely different.
