Not my device, not my photo: Sawyer has an arm for playing the ukulele.
Having never met this arm, I see a soft socket which won’t click and rock against the instrument, and a little brush to strum with which has three points of adjustment for positioning in relation to the forearm. All of this makes a lot of sense if the strumming motion is in the elbow.
Way to go Sawyer and your anonymous fab team (h/t War Amps). •
• [photos: close up of device and ukulele in active position. Prosthesis is soft silicone sleeve with fuzzy outside instead of the typical hard resin. Knurled pin at end of suspension sleeve has white plastic ring around it, to which an articulated plastic bar the length of an index finger is is attached. Very short brush attached to end of the finger, rests against the strings. One adjustment screw at each articulation. Second photo: full view of the preteen seen wearing War Amps golf shirt]•
