This photo was taken 1 year ago today, Memorial Day weekend.
Fast forward to this week: Two trips to urgent care, rounds of tests and blood work, bouts of hydration and not being able to eat a full meal for 5 days and a cancelled trip to Nashville... Today, I am finally on the mend. This has taught me that we are given one body and one shot at this life and to take care of the beautiful humans that we are because life can change in an instant. I also learned to rely on my gut for guidance and to not turn a blind eye if you feel something is off with your daily feelings. Albeit mental, physical, what have you, the internet tends to be a place where we show those in the public what we want them to see but there is complete beauty in the breakdown, in the struggle and it's important to honor that.
I'm truly grateful for the lessons I've learned this week, for the wonderful people who have helped me through this and for my health. Thank you to everyone who has reached out with tips and well wishes. ❤️
Caught my first brook trout today!!! I think I am hooked! 🎣 This was one of two that I caught. I guess that now I need my own set of waders...and maybe some fishing gear... 😜😜😜
And did I mention that I caught the biggest fish on our adventure??? Not running it in or anything, of course... 😜
I will say that the walk back upstream was DEFINITELY a workout! 👊🏻
