In 1984 I purchased the just released Apple Macintosh. I still have it so I decided to turn it on to see if it still worked. Unfortunately the floppy drive wouldn’t accept the disk. Turns out this is a common problem because the grease on the mechanical bits dries up and turns to glue. I had to take it apart to clean it and degrease the slides. I also found out the screen image shrinks over time so I decided to adjust that back to the original size as well. Sharing some of the images of the insides of 1984 cutting edge technology FYE.
