Core stiffness is tres important for injury prevention and enhancing athletic performance. Building a strong core means strengthening all of those torso muscles. Most of these exercises aren't the most "flattering" if you're keeping braced (because yano, flexing your lower back makes you look temporarily wider) but the benefits far outweigh the very short term awkward.
Like squeezing the heck out of your 🍑 on leg day. Not the cutest but it's more than worth it, mane 👊🏻.
