The first time I ever ‘bulked’, I ate ALL the foods. Didn’t track my intake, trained as much as I could, ate as much as I could & got Way chubbier than I intended to. Problem is, if you stop gaining weight or see a decline in strength without knowing how much you’re eating or how much volume you’re getting through, you’re going to struggle to know how much more you might need to eat or exactly how you might need to manipulate your volume in order to continue progressing.
4 years later, I have more muscle mass but also far more control. I build muscle more slowly due to lifting experience & the size of the surplus I’m in, but I also maintain my conditioning far more effectively. I track my intake and my training volume so that if I don’t gain weight or get stronger, I have enough information to make an educated decision moving forward.
It’s exactly the same for all of my clients. They all track their workouts & training volume through the same smartphone app I do (the same one you get for free with HyperDBS) & track their macros. They report in with me each week so we can track progress & make adjustments that need to be made, so that progress rarely stalls.
You can’t control what you don’t measure. If you want more control over the way you look & perform, it makes sense to increase the amount of control you have over the variables that affect your physique progress.
