Another World | Photograph by Alexander Brown . โ€œ[Before] packing my things to go film the whales in Tonga, and before returning home to Europe after an epic three-year trip around the world; I had one last thing to do: hike Tongariro National Park in mid-winter,โ€ writes Your Shot photographer Alexander Brown. โ€œI wanted to camp under the stars, and photograph my tent with one of the volcanoes and Milky Way in the frame. It was cold, below 15 degrees that night. But my partner and I kept warm in this little tent we set up on the South Crater Lake.โ€ โ€” โ€œLovely! Nice mood and simplicity, but technically well executed.โ€ โ€” @natgeo photographer Charlie Hamilton James ( @chamiltonjames) #YourShotPhotographer
This image by photographer @beverlyjoubert of the Klipgat cave is a view of an ancient cavern within Grootbos Nature Preserve. The cave was formed millions of years ago by the power of erosion that was caused by underwater aquifers, rising sea levels and the force of pounding waves. #photooftheweek #cave #erosion #nature

Although orangebanded stingfish like this one at @GulfSpecimen Marine Lab are well camouflaged already, theyโ€™re also able to bury themselves in the sand all the way up to their eyes. Their frontal, claw-like rays are used both for movement along the muddy ocean floor and for capturing prey. These fish can be found in the Indo-West Pacific Ocean and are capable of delivering an incredibly painful sting. To see a video of this fish using its frontal rays, check out @natgeo. . . #fish #orange #stingfish #venomous #weirdnature #strangeanimals #nature #conservation #biodiversity #animalfacts #wildlife #wildlifephotography #natgeo #savetogether #photoark
