I've talked about this with my friends but I don't think I ever have on here, I'm normally pretty intelligent as to when my body is holding water weight and I'm not as shocked with the scale as I used to be. Normally just by looking at the "fluffiness" of my body I can tell how much water I'm holding. It fluctuates a lot with my carb and salt intake. If I've been eating poorly I'll normally go up 3-5 pounds in water and it will drop off within 1-2 days of clean eating and exercise.
It's taken me years of playing with food and calories and macros to understand my body this way. Looking back I used to just know if I felt good or bad. An amazing quote my old roommate who was a nutritionist used to say. "People get so used to feeling crappy from the food they eat that it just becomes normal for them" and it's so true. I used to eat shitty and feel shitty all the time but I didn't really pin point it on food. Now when I eat something like McDonald's from a clean diet I can really see how that one meal effects me. Literally #foodforthought
