Designed to operate outdoors and inside buildings. It is specialized for mobile manipulation. It is electrically powered and hydraulically actuated. It uses sensors in its body and legs to balance and LIDAR and stereo sensors in its head to avoid obstacles, assess the terrain, help with navigation and manipulate objects. This version of Atlas is about 5' 9" tall (about a head shorter than the DRC Atlas) and weighs 180 lbs.
😡💻🔥As some of you know, the Republicans in the House just passed a tax bill that will devastate graduate research in the United States. Ph.D 👨🏾🎓👩🏻🎓students like myself are only taxed 💲on our stipends, not our tuition because it is paid for by our Universities. Under this tax plan grad students would owe taxes on years of tuition😩, after normally already being in debt from undergrad😭. This will make meeting living expenses nearly impossible, barring all but the wealthiest students 🤑from pursuing graduate studies. And even if Universities end up covering this expense, they would need to reduce the number of graduate students to afford it🙍🏼. Do we really want to chance condemning the country to ignorance? Less education means less research, less life-saving technology, less discovery, advancement and innovation. It's not too late though🕑, please call your senators!! 📢Tell them you believe in education and that everyone should have an opportunity to meet their full potential. If you made it to the end of this thank you🙏🏻, you're awesome 🙌🏼!
