⛺️Ricketts Glen Pennsylvania One of the reasons of my family and I return to the spot over and over is because there's no phone or wifi in the cabins. It's a great opportunity to unplug connect to nature, others, and myself. Weather permitting, we'll be doing the big hike tomorrow! Here's part of a video shot outside the cabin during a light rain demonstrating that with a little creativity, you can train anywhere! More to come on this outdoor routine! 💥Standing calve raises exercise (Plantar Flexion and Dorsi Flexion) This video demonstrates an alternative way to train, tone, strengthen, and help balance your calves (Plantar Flexion and Dorsi Flexion) using your own body weight. You can also add resistance by using dumbbells or resistance bands. For calves, this is as effective and functional as machines. This exercise requires balance. You can modify it by standing and facing a wall or the back of a chair and lately holding onto it with your fingertips to aid balance. Changing the angle of the feet by rotating hip joint inward and outward challenges muscles of the lower leg then working in parallel. Ankles are often neglected when it comes to your strength training routine, but they shouldn't be. Strong, flexible ankles are an important foundation, helping prevent injury whether you are taking a walk, running to catch a bus. The good news is just a few minutes a day can help keep the sprains away. I do 3 sets of 15 repetitions of the inward stance of the hip and feet, outward stance of hip and feet, and parallel stance of hip and feet every day to keep my ankles flexible and strong. Summer and ice cream go together most definitely. But I recall years ago, the ice cream man, 31 Flavors, Baskin Robbins, oh yeah you name it, I ate it. The good ol' days of getting my ice cream fix, then fixing to spend a lot of time in the bathroom not too long after. Yeah those lifelong gut issues that I thought was just normal to live with. Come to find out, dairy, contrary to what we've been "taught" about how it builds strong bones (FALSE) isn't so normal. It does in fact cause mucus and digestive issues, contains casein a protein from cows milk which is now found to be a carcinogen and 75% of people are in fact lactose intolerant. I finally started making the connection and thought to myself, if I wouldn't drink milk, lips to udders like baby calves do, why would I have ever consumed it in the first place? Hmmm... NONETHELESS, here's a tastier, cleaner, healthier, dairy free, guilt free, more natural way to consume some ice cream. Just some frozen fruit and a few splashes of coconut water(or water) for texture. I made a banana and wild blueberry, as well as a banana and raspberry and you can jazz up however you like. Peel and freeze bananas or any fruit if you bought too much and you're not sure what to do with it and treat yourself to cruelty free #nicecream! Rise and grind 💪 ---- People often ask me what my pre-workout supplement is. Well, it’s raw cacao nibs. Cacao nibs are packed with iron, fiber and antioxidants. It is also one of the best dietary sources of magnesium. I always take 2 teaspoons one hour before I train. The boost of energy you get from cacao is like nothing else and the best thing about it is that there is no crash.
