Around 18 months ago this area near the patch was completely bare. After a lot of soil improvement and some hardy plant choices, it is now looking lush and inviting. I particularly love the ‘smokey’ look of the bronze fennel.
There isn't a more forbidden fruit growing in my garden than the White Currants...... I have many young shrubs that I have made from cuttings but only one older plant that is bearing fruit, so every little translucent gem is precious. How I have been waiting so very patiently for these plump pearls to ripen slowly one by one, finally these pretties are the first pickings of the season. Sweet, plump, juicy and no where near as tart as my Red Currants, they are delightful eaten straight from the plant.
