[DIESEL GOES BETTER] 2017 Toyota Tacoma https://youtu.be/dOerjlIG2hc For years, the Toyota Tacoma has been the mid-size-pickup measuring stick. It offers proficient off-road packages, a manual transmission, impressive towing capability, and styling that stands out. The TRD Pro returns after a one-year hiatus, and it’s Toyota’s top-of-the-line off-road model. It is powered exclusively by a 3.5-liter V-6 in the Double Cab (crew-cab) short-bed setup, and it offers either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. The TRD Pro also features a suspension tuned for off-road driving that adds a 1.0-inch lift, plus LED exterior lighting, the standard V-6 tow package, and, of course, various TRD equipment and badging. Safety assists such as blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors are standard. All models now have a touchscreen Entune infotainment system. The Tacoma’s optional V-6 engine provides decent performance and towing muscle, but the base four-cylinder is weak-kneed and best avoided. We also advise steering clear of the persnickety six-speed automatic transmission with either powerplant; stick with the six-speed manual and the V-6. The base engine is a 2.7-liter inline-four that makes a paltry 159 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. It’s significantly less powerful than those in the Chevrolet Colorado and the GMC Canyon. At its brawniest, the Tacoma can tow up to 6800 pounds with the V-6 Tow package and rear-wheel drive; four-wheel drive versions can pull 6500 pounds. We’ll give Toyota a nod for incorporating touchscreen infotainment in all of its Tacomas. The Entune system works as it should and has pleasing graphics, yet we want more connectivity ports as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. #tbt #throwbackthursday #throwbackthursdays #tbts #throwback #tb #instatbt #instatb #reminisce #reminiscing #backintheday #photooftheday #back #memories #instamemory #miss #old #instamoment #instagood #throwbackthursdayy #throwbackthursdayyy

HAPPY 🌏 EARTH DAY!!! @stevewinterphoto @natgeo Nature is perfection. It gives us the air we breathe and the water we need for all life. I am working on a @natgeo Jaguar story. Here is Scarface running after a caiman which he did not get this time. Jaguars are the 3rd largest of the big cats. Found from US / Mexico border to northern Argentina. Jaguars have rebounded in this area where 95% of the land is privately owned. In the past many ranchers would kill the cats when they ate their cattle. Today in this area tourism brings in much more money to the local economy than cattle ranching. So the jaguar population is increasing. But revenge killings of jaguars happen close to this area and all throughout the jaguars range. Also poaching for skins, bones and teeth is growing for the first time since the 1970’s to feed the demand for Asian Traditional Medicine and luxury items from endangered species. “When the buying stops, the killing can too.” @wildaid @bertiegregory My first story with big cats was the 1st @natgeo Jaguar story 20 years ago! It has changed my life working with the magical and magnificent cats of the world. Animals have emotions just like we have-kids hang out and play like these 2 cubs.. Forests provide us with up to 50% of the oxygen we breathe - oceans the rest. They give us 75% of the fresh water. If we can save the forest of the Amazon and other areas in Central and South America for the JAGUAR and Puma. The forests of Central Africa for the leopard, lion, elephants etc. And the forests of South Asia for the Tigers and Leopards. If you save the top predator in any ecosystem you save everything that lives with them. So if - We Save Big Cats we can help Save Ourselves. Please visit CauseAnUproar.org to find out other ways to become involved to save big cats! #follow me @stevewinterphoto to see more images from my work with @natgeo and Thanks!! @stevewinterphoto @natgeo @nglive #nglive @natgeochannel @natgeowild @thephotosociety @natgeocreative #BCI #bigcatsintiative #startwith1thing @projetooncafari @refugioecologicocaiman @pantheracats @pantanalsafaris #canonusa #redcine @africanparksnetwork #ldfoundation @leonardodicaprio

Photograph by @paulnicklen taken while on assignment for @natgeo // A fur seal stretches and rolls around at the base of blue whale vertebrae at an old whaling station on the Antarctic peninsula. Between 1910 and 1930 in this small area alone, over 61,336 blue whales were killed. If you add in Right, Fin, Sei, Humpback and Sperm whales, the catch added up to 118,159 in that period. Seals were also wiped out. Except for humpback and minke whales, the great whales in this area remain a tiny a fraction of what they once were. Fur seals, however, have shown great signs of recovery. #followme on @paulnicklen to see more from this changing land and seascape. #nature #whales #humanimpact #seal #ecosystemrecovery
