By the early 1920's the gardens had been recreated into an Arts & Crafts style, reminiscent of those created by British horticulturist and garden designer, Gertrude Jekyll (1843-1932). The yew hedge and colosal topiaries date as far back as 1703! The hedge separates the four acre garden into eight smaller gardens ranging from the formal to the more modern. There are woodlands, fields, beautiful herbaceous borders (influenced by Stein) and, of course, the resident ghost.© . . .
