Alternatives for whey protein💥 ------------------------------- I used to think that protein supplement is a must for muscle growth and spent money for at least a tub of protein every month💵🕊. - Later on after reading and researching i've come to understand that protein supplements are just a convenient option to assist us in consuming adequate protein for muscle growth and they are not a necessity. - In fact protein supplements are just protein and just like any other protein that we would get from a whole food source🍗🧀🍳 - In the above photo, I've listed some of the whole food sources which consist of similar amount of protein with a scoop of dymatize protein powder. Of course there are other alternatives too which i didn't include due to limited space😅🙏🏻 - As a conclusion if we can get of our protein from whole food, we dont' need any protein supplement. However if you are those that get bored easily with whole food you can certainly consume protein powder as an alternative. Lazy Sundays are Thee Best! Been just gaming 🎮 & watching movies 🎥 majority of today, didn't even realize I was so behind on my calories & macros that I had one meal essentially more than that still to fill. Sweet Potato Breakfast Scramble 🍴💛🍅⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ STOP EVERYTHING. 💩 just got real! 🙊 This dish is the perfect vegan substitute for scrambled eggs on a lazy Sunday morning... my favourite dish for converting devout meat-eaters to accept that plant-based meals CAN be just as filling! ☀ Tempeh, or fermented soybeans condensed into a (let’s face it, not very visually appealing) block, is one of the highest sources of vegan protein. Don’t be alarmed if your tempeh has black spots all over it. This is not mold, but is rather a product of the fermentation process – it is actually good for promoting gut health. 👍⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ For vegans following a low-FODMAP diet, getting enough protein can be a struggle, as many plant-based sources of protein (e.g., beans, mushrooms and nuts) are often trigger foods. 👎 While this dish does include some sweet potato and avocado (foods that may flare IBS symptoms in some), I have ensured to keep the quantities FODMAP-friendly so that you can enjoy all the delicious flavours and textures safely. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ The smokiness of the tempeh (or tofu) is beautifully offset by the sweetness of the potato and smoked capsicum. Here is one of my favorite smoothie add ons to keep me satiated longer - Shredded Coconut! I mostly use whey protein for smoothies. Whey is a fast digesting protein so the fat in the coco nut helps slow down the digestion while keeping away any hangry feelings 😉 I usually add a 1/4 cup which equals about 10 grams of fat. Also having a protein + fat smoothie as an in between Meal is a good way let your body use up carbs you've had from previous meals. Plus having tons of carbs with every meal also means your body is constantly producing insulin.
