#backday 2nd back workout of the week today hitting it from different angles. Changed it up from seated machine row to standing single arm row so i could pull more lower and work the lower lats more. Great movement for range of movement and getting a full stretch also. 2nd leg workout of the week so i worked on Unilateral leg work. Most of the movenents consisted of this because i am trying to work on my weaknesses and getting my weaker leg stronger. It will then really help when it comes to doing the compound movements again and making sure both legs are working instead of one trying to take over the other! Also really good for balance work amd using your core. #transformationtuesday Right 📷 is post op from a hernia around end of march time and the left is from last week. First month post op was hardwork trying to get back to lifting again and starting from scratch after a good winter of strength training. I got most of my core strength back through lifting as i see that as one of the main ab builder. A lot of stuff gets thrown around about 5 minute ab workouts or 10 minute to 6 pack abs rountine.....its all BS you have to work hard and be consistent with whatever you want to get. takes a long time to build something up.... you have to be patient with the progress and keep working away and you will see bit by bit. This is not my end goal by a long way its just progress of coming back from an operation. anyways Abs shouldnt be a main reason to train it should be a small part of your workouts because you put enough work on your core through lifting if done right. Sunday is now my official #legday 👌 Everything went up from last week with sets and deadlift went up 10kg for a 5 by 5. Front squats was 70kg for 4 sets of 6 aint done that in a long time but felt good! Try to progress in anything you do even if its just setting little goals that will eventually get you to that main one. You have to start from somewhere to build from! Finished legs with bulgarian split squats into db reverse lunges then into db reverse lunge pulses to burnout 👌
If you dont challenge yourself, you will never realize what you can become. Cant wait to get started with prep for competing next year. Already starting to work on a few things but also on a little bit of a diet so i will be starting my proper prep august time to give myself a long period of time to prepare the best i can for it. This will be a massive challenge for me as i have not done one before but doing new things and testing yourself out and trying to be the best version of yourself is what its about. Had a really good upper body workout today after having a day off. Always know when to take a rest day and when to carry on and find a good mix because it helps loads!! These db rows supinated were a great change up. Upper body day. Plenty of pulling movements today with a few shoulder movements added in. Trying to work on width of my back so more lat lat focus but also trying to get the detail work in to bring it out so today was more pulldowns and neutral grip with reverse rows and revers e pulldowns in and my next upper day will be more thickness focused for the back. Shoulder moves standing laterals and seated with OHP towards the end of the workout when fatigued. Back to working on deadlifts. Did these after squats yesterday. Really tried to get the form nailed down again on both movements. Not done deadlifts for around a month so just went with 110kg for 3 sets of 5 so i will try build upto to a 5 by 5 before adding weight again. Straight leg felt better then last week. #legday First day back following a progression plan on squats after not doing them much over the past month but i am ready to get back at it and get the numbers back up again. Started with paused squats for 4sets of 5 paused followed by a drop set to rep it out. Not much weight @90k but i want to do it the right way and work back up instead of taking large jumps. Then onto Front squats @60k for 3sets 8. Going to try build the sets up then start again with a new weight. Did the workout fasted this morning only had a green tea and 1L of water pre workout but felt good and got a long session in!!
