First workout out back since thursday so was nice to get back to it with some deadlifts. Worked upto 155 then did 5sets of 10 with 90kg in the vid was last set of 10 before moving onto sumo stance. First time back doing them with some weight on and felt good just left the 90 on and did 4 sets of 5 to try work back into it then finshed off with some pulldown work and reallly focused on getting the stretch at top and squeezing at bottom for a second or 2. Had a great weekend off and even got the chance to go and watch a pca event which has motivated me to step it up even more with my training and see where i can get to. Barbell complex I thought i would give this a go toward the end of my workout. Great way to finish a workout off or if you dont have much time to workout. After my warm up set i aimed to get 3 or 5 reps on each movement so your getting plenty or reps in with different movements so it really takes it out of you after a few sets. Not a pic from today but i did squats so it counts 😆 Another crazy high volume workout on squats with @np_fitdiary. Hit a 123kg back squat for 2 after getting 115 for 5 last week. Little bits of progress has been great last 2 weeks and being pushed again with hard workouts has been something that was missing for me. 18 sets of squats and quads were on fire when it came to doing sets of 10 with front squats for 5sets! Past 2 weeks getting back focused on the gym workouts has been a massive motivation to see what i can get back upto. Just past 9week mark post op and was told i wouldnt be back to full fitness by 12 and maybe not liftimg heavy till the 10 mark. #mondaymotivation Top deadlift workout with @np_fitdiary today!! 165kg got done...might not be super heavy or the best of form but considering it was my first heavy deadlift session back after having hernia surgery i will take that all day! Second one didn't go up but it will next time. Stopped counting on how many sets of deadlifts we did. Volume day!! Deficit deadlifts in second vid standing on plates. We didn't even rest much between sets just back to back soon as one finished the other goes. Not back day! Great way to warm up before any pressing movements really helps loosen your back and shoulders up. I do this as a superset while doing OHP and it has really helped me out because it gets your lats firing and that will help you with your bench or OHP. Lat pulldown- go with your elbows pulling you down and not your biceps! Back to back legs days! 170 reps and 19sets of different squats done. Awesome workout with @np_fitdiary These are the workouts that push you to the limit of wanting to quit but you dig deep and get through them because if you can do that you can do anythink that tests you. 115kg back squat for 5reps when the most i have done is 60 since the op is a massive boost! In the vid it was the last set of a 5×10 or 12 of front squats after 12 sets of back squat! Changed it up today and went with lunges over squats. Something i need to work on and build up so i did hamstrings glutes and lower back and will stick to that for one of my lower body days through the week. Loads of different ways of doing it with weights so going to mix it up each week but lunges are a great movement to build on and it will help with leg strength massively. New week new weight on the OHP Aim is to get 10 sets of 3 before moving up in weight got 7sets of 3 today so next time on 3s i will try add another set and build on it from that. Only reason for that was because the gym was on the verge of shutting 😅 got carried away with squatting so had to add the dealift before they shut! I have been working on getting my OHP back up since the op. Stayed with same weight the past week and really got into working it back up without adding weight. Good way to do this is through manipulation of reps an sets so i went with 7sets of 5 one day then 5sets of 7 next workout then i just hit 4sets of 9 yesterday. Thats progression without trying to add weight every time its about nailing your form with that weight before moving on. Great way of adding in sets and working the reps up. I dont always do this on a monday but thought i would join in on #internationalchestday First session back benching...was nice to get two 20kg plates on and get a good base to work from. Takeaway points- control the downwards portion better an not rush an bounce it.
