Today’s brief: Find Stillness - Get involved - Tag your images #30daysofleap #findstillness @leapmode for a chance to be featured as our shot of the day at 9pm AEST tonight - 30 Days of LEAP starts today! Each day during September will bring a new brief to stretch your creativity. Our week 4 theme is Emotion @rachelhau85 will challenge you to connect with people and the world to build emotional depth in your photographs. - Shot notes from @rachelhau85: I wanted to capture the stillness of the water droplets on a window over somewhere busy to give the viewer a still moment away from the chaotic outside world. Using the glass above a busy street with moving cars creates this feeling of chaos, while inside the water on the glass are completely still giving the impression it is very still and quiet inside.

Today’s brief: Look into their eyes - Get involved - Tag your images #30daysofleap #lookintotheireyes @leapmode for a chance to be featured as our shot of the day at 9pm AEST tonight - 30 Days of LEAP starts today! Each day during September will bring a new brief to stretch your creativity. Our week 4 theme is Emotion @rachelhau85 will challenge you to connect with people and the world to build emotional depth in your photographs. - Shot notes from @rachelhau85: I went for a magnifying object and held it over my friend’s eye while we were talking about the brief. A very hard brief but I knew I wanted something different, the prop in my camera bag helped me create that unique point of view I was after.
Well 'Emotion's Week' has started off with a bang!!!! Today's brief was #softenthelight for our #30daysofleap . Today’s brief: Soften the Light - Get involved - Tag your images #30daysofleap #softenthelight @leapmode for a chance to be featured as our shot of the day at 9pm AEST tonight - 30 Days of LEAP starts today! Each day during September will bring a new brief to stretch your creativity. Our week 4 theme is Emotion @rachelhau85 will challenge you to connect with people and the world to build emotional depth in your photographs. - Shot notes from @rachelhau85: Soft glowing light is beautiful and gives a gorgeous glow to the skin. However for this brief I wanted to use soft defused light through smoke to give a darker atmosphere. The hand reaching out to my camera almost feels like a magician appearing out of a cloud of smoke. For this shot, I needed to completely fill the frame with a huge cloud of smoke and a soft box and flash behind the smoke to light it up. I placed my model in the smoke and had him hold a sparkler at me. This shot did take a lot of trial and error to get it the way I wanted.
Today’s theme #BeBright is the last for the theme... “Light”. Congratulations to our favourites from todays entires: @currumbinali @brentrobe.arts @nicolasnaith Big thanks from me, @julianlallo to everyone who followed along as I shared my take on this weeks briefs. Tune in tomorrow as @rachelhau85 takes over as shares the next theme…”Emotion"
Today’s brief: Be Bright - Get involved - Tag your images #30daysofleap #BeBright @leapmode for a chance to be featured as our shot of the day at 9pm AEST tonight - Each day during September we'll bring a new brief to stretch your creativity. Our third week’s theme is LIGHT - @julianlallo will challenge you to explore shade, shadow and shine to bring your subject to life. - Shot notes from @julianlallo: Oppose to capturing the colours of the sky, I set out to highlight the strength & brightness of the sun at sunset. I wanted to really overexpose the image to contrast the open sky with the shadows and textures of the cliff face below. The light in this image is bright, but still maintains a diffused quality due to the sea spray, which adds to the inviting nature. - ISO 100 70mm f/4 1/500sec
For the day 21 brief #BackLightIt we've gone with two very creative, but very different images. Conagratulations to @catfishbeard and @jnine_d! - Melbourne LEAP Meet Announcement! This saturday the 23rd of September with ambassador @julianlallo Link in bio to register!
Today’s brief: Backlight It - Get involved - Tag your images #30daysofleap #BacklightIt @leapmode for a chance to be featured as our shot of the day at 9pm AEST tonight - Each day during September we'll bring a new brief to stretch your creativity. Our third week’s theme is LIGHT - @julianlallo will challenge you to explore shade, shadow and shine to bring your subject to life. - Shot notes from @julianlallo: My initial concept for this brief was to shoot a back-lit portrait. I went with this shot instead because I wanted to manufacture & control the light to really create a sharp rim-light around the silhouette. I went this way to challenge myself to create something outside what I would regularly produce. - In Frame: @Brenton_Captures - ISO 100 35mm f/4.0 6sec
Day 20 - Shine Through! Once again the creativity of the community has made it a hard job to pick our favourites. It was great to see so many different perspectives on the brief and the use of both natural and artificial light. Congratulations to these talented artists: @el____ci @bearsinthenight @__emilyrob @ ripsnortta @william.james.prescott #30daysofleap #ShineThrough - Day 21 brief released tomorrow at 8am EST
Today’s brief: Shine Through - Get involved - Tag your images #30daysofleap #ShineThrough @leapmode for a chance to be featured as our shot of the day at 9pm AEST tonight - Each day during September we'll bring a new brief to stretch your creativity. Our third week’s theme is LIGHT - @julianlallo will challenge you to explore shade, shadow and shine to bring your subject to life. - Shot notes from @julianlallo: My inspiration for this shot was originally to create a ‘stencil’ like image created by the silhouette of my subject. On this particular day, I was lucky enough for the morning sun to shine through the dense fog & trees, giving this image its ‘divine’ like quality. I love the depth created by the layers of fog, as well as the rays of light pushing through. - In Frame: @kxnwn - ISO 640 35mm f/11.0 1/80sec
Today we’ve gone with two very creative, but very different, takes on the brief - Bounce The Light! Congratulations @ellocofish and @tinmut! Be sure to check out their feeds and all the amazing images tagged #BounceTheLight - Tune in tomorrow morning at 8:00 for our next light themed brief! #30daysofleap
Today’s brief: Bounce The Light - Get involved - Tag your images #30daysofleap #BounceTheLight @leapmode for a chance to be featured as our shot of the day at 9pm AEST tonight - Each day during September we'll bring a new brief to stretch your creativity. Our third week’s theme is LIGHT - @julianlallo will challenge you to explore shade, shadow and shine to bring your subject to life. - Shot notes from @julianlallo: I took this image at one of my favourite locations to shoot golden hour. I wanted to capture & manipulate the light to meet the brief. I purposefully wanted an understated frame, with a lot of negative space to really highlight the flare generated by ‘bouncing the light’. I positioned my subject in the centre of the frame to balance the image & create a sense of calm - In frame: @natsoligo - ISO 100 50mm f/9.0 1/200
So many creative takes on yesterdays brief - #RoamTheNight! Here's a few of our favourites... @meghnab92 @darylariawan @vnsw9 @strategicproductions @stevemorrisau @zebressica Check out our stories for a few more that were too good not to share!
Today’s brief: Roam the Night - Get involved - Tag your images #30daysofleap #RoamTheNight @leapmode for a chance to be featured as our shot of the day at 8am AEST tomorrow! - Each day during September we'll bring a new brief to stretch your creativity. Our third week’s theme is LIGHT - @julianlallo will challenge you to explore shade, shadow and shine to bring your subject to life. - Shot notes from @julianlallo: When I got this brief, I was instantly reminded of nights spent exploring with friends. I set out to capture a moment like this that I have seen through my own eyes a hundred times before. Having not had much experience in astro photography, I took this as a personal challenge to really push myself & try to capture the type of imagery that regularly amazes & inspires me. - In Frame: @Brenton_Captures - ISO 1600 16mm f/2.8 30sec
Congratulations to our fovourites from today's brief #MakeItGloomy! Be sure to check these amazing artists... @azad.sellars @wendy_bishop_photography @kateyoungphotography @michelle_pallant_photography @littlejocopeland Check in tomorrow morning for the day 18 brief #30daysofleap
Today’s brief: Make It Gloomy - Get involved - Tag your images #30daysofleap #MakeItGloomy @leapmode for a chance to be featured as our shot of the day at 9pm AEST tonight - Each day during September we'll bring a new brief to stretch your creativity. Our second week’s theme is LIGHT - @julianlallo will challenge you to explore shade, shadow and shine to bring your subject to life. - Shot notes from @julianlallo: There’s nothing more I love to shoot than a foggy road - just take a look at my feed. With the brief in mind, I wanted to draw the viewers eye down the winding road & into the deep fog & eventual vanishing point. I hoped to capture the grey scales created by the increasing fog in the distance, giving the image a gloomy & layered quality. - ISO 320 35mm f/4.0 1/40sec
So many great entries for today's brief #ShapeAShadow! Here are a few of our favourites from these very creative photographers. @sonia.conn @louisawest_photography @shaniac_t_photography @nuhnznl - Thanks to everyone who took part today. Today’s brief: Shape a shadow - Get involved - Tag your images #30daysofleap #ShapeAShadow @leapmode for a chance to be featured as our shot of the day at 9pm AEST tonight - Each day during September we'll bring a new brief to stretch your creativity. Our third week’s theme is LIGHT - @julianlallo will challenge you to explore shade, shadow and shine to bring your subject to life. - Shot notes from @julianlallo: Most mornings, I see these high-contrast, linear shadows cast along our living room wall - for this brief, I wanted to create an interesting portrait that danced in-between the light & shade. I love the strong focus on her eyes, mixed with the sharp lines & soft pose. I chose a warm, inviting palette & soft styling to contrast the strong shadows - In frame: @natsoligo - ISO 100 44mm f/9.0 1/125sec Speed light: 1/1
Congratulations to our favourite entries for today's brief #CreateDistance. Everyone tackled this one in different ways to highlight the idea of 'distance' - from using leading lines, to perspective, to focal length, to symbolism. Very clever. Congratulations to: @currumbinali @little.krishna @loufy @ramprakasan @incamerasessions That's it from me @jarradseng. Check back here tomorrow morning for the Day 16 brief with our next LEAP curator @julianlallo
