Seriously! Every. Single. Week. 😫
You should switch out your hand towels with clean ones every few days. It may seem like a lot, but if someone who hasn’t washed their hands properly dries their hands on that towel, they’re wiping bacteria onto that towel. If the towel doesn’t dry properly, it can breed more bacteria, and that’s not good for anyone! Just swap your hand towels out frequently so you don’t have to worry about it.
If you have an avocado that’s not quite ripe yet, you can use flour to speed up the ripening process. Place your avocado in a bowl and cover it in flour, then place the bowl on your countertop for 24 hours or so. When your wait is over, your avocado should be ready to use! || Click the link in my profile for 8️⃣ more clever ways to use flour that you probably didn't know about! https://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com/uses-for-flour
Here's a handy travel tip! Take a screenshot of any map routes you might need and save them to your phone. The photos will allow you to access the directions you need, even if you end up in remote areas with spotty cell service. || Click the link in my profile for 50 brilliant ways to use your smartphone camera!  http://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com/uses-for-smartphone-camera
Trying to remove a stripped screw can be a huge headache. Before you go to the hardware store for special screw-removing equipment, try using a rubber band first! Place a rubber band flat over the screw head, then press your screwdriver into the screw head. Many times, the rubber band will give your screwdriver enough extra grip that you can remove the screw without resorting to more drastic measures.
A few years back, I received an email from a reader named Nige in South Africa. He wrote in asking if had any leads on a DIY version of an in-shower lotion. Back then, I had never even heard of such a thing! But I didn’t want to let Nige down, so I did some research into the subject. After reading up on it, I decided to accept the challenge of coming up with my own version of an in-shower lotion! I’ve got the results on my blog today. You really never know! 💁😜😂
You can freeze leftover sauces in ice cube trays! Once frozen, pop the cubes out and put them in a freezer bag. You can defrost just what you need the next time you want to use that sauce. || Click the link in my profile for 20 other ways to use your freezer to save time and money!  http://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com/20-things-you-can-freeze
If you often find yourself searching for papers your kids brought home from school, here’s a smart way to control the chaos! You’ll need five mason jars (I used pint-sized) and a hot-glue gun. Lay three jars out horizontally, with the mouths facing the same direction, and glue together. Repeat with two more jars. Place the two on top of the three; glue together. You can tie a different colored ribbon or stretch a different-colored rubber band around the mouth of each jar to designate one for each child (extra jars can be for Mom or Dad).
When you're doing an at home manicure, soak your fingers in a dish of Dawn dish soap. It makes the cuticles soft and easy to work with. And it removes the natural oil from the fingernails, which allows the polish to adhere better.
I like the portability of my makeup bag, but I definitely don’t love when I have to dig through it to find what I’m looking for. But I recently stumbled onto a great idea for using magnets to organize your makeup! Just glue magnets onto the back of each of the makeup items you use regularly, and stick them to a metal or magnetic board in your bathroom. Your makeup has never been more accessible!
I've made a lot of things in my Instant Pot the last few months! And now that the weather is cooling off I thought it was time to try a nice big pot roast. It came out great and was so much quicker than making it in the oven! Plus, it's the perfect warm comfort food for fall. Did you know you can get accessories for your Instant Pot to make it even more useful? This glass lid is perfect for times when you’re using the non-pressurized settings on your Instant Pot. You just set it right on top of the inner pot! When using the “Sauté” function, it will keep your food from splattering all over the place. And the glass lid is a must-have if you’re using the “Slow Cooker” function, because it will trap the moisture in the pot and help keep your food from drying out. || Click the link in my profile for more must have Instant Pot accessories!  http://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com/instant-pot-accessories
We’ve done a few renovating projects on our home in the past several years, including putting in wood flooring in the main room and tile flooring in the kitchen and laundry room. And while I dream about someday overhauling the master and guest bathrooms, at this point they still have the laminate flooring that was there when we moved in! That flooring has little nooks and crannies that are nearly impossible to get clean. That is until I decided to try my favorite carpet cleaning trick to my laminate! It worked like a charm. Dab a bit of white glue on the threads of the buttons on your shirts. This will help prevent the threads from fraying, and will keep your buttons on longer! You can also use clear nail polish.
To keep a spoon or ladle from sliding down into a pot, wrap a rubber band around the end of the handle! The rubber band will provide enough grip to keep the spoon from sliding all the way down.
